Hearts of Gold
Police Family Outreach Foundation
Our Story
In 2008, a Tucson Police Department member's child was diagnosed with a terminal illness and employees began collecting donations to assist the family.
They quickly realized that there had to be a better way to provide financial assistance to Department members in these situations. This was the beginning of Hearts of Gold. For the next 11 years, the program operated with the full support and under the umbrella of a larger non-profit organization.
In 2019, Hearts of Gold created its own nonprofit entity to operate as a self-sustaining charitable organization.
Since 2019, Hearts of Gold Police Family Outreach Foundation has added several more programs to enhance the good work for which it has become known over the past 14 years.
The purpose of the Hearts of Gold Police Family Outreach Foundation is to provide financial relief and support to qualified participants and their families in times of need and/or distress, as well as to offer philanthropic outreach to the Tucson Police Department community and the greater law enforcement community of Southern Arizona.
The Foundation is organized under the Arizona Nonprofit Corporation Act for charitable purposes, and the purposes of the Foundation are limited exclusively to exempt purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
